What is RoHS?
RoHS stands for “Restriction of Hazardous Substances.” It’s pronounced several different
ways (depending on the country and region,) but around here we say “ro-HOSS.”
RoHS is a standard that originated in the European Union but a few other countries (like Japan) and states (such as California) have implemented their own versions in the last couple years. It restricts the use of certain hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. If any of your products may be heading to the EU, then you will want to be sure you can comply with RoHS regulations.
